About Us
Welcome To Asa Housing
We are a non-profit housing organization that is dedicated to providing affordable and safe housing to individuals and families of law and moderate income in the state of Michigan. We are motivated to help as many families and individuals as our resources allow us to help prevent homelessness and unsafe housing situations. We are only privately funded at this time but our initial fund was put into rental properties that are generating monthly income that can hopefully help pay for those in need.
While we wish to do so our current condition being a young entity doesn’t allow us to provide supportive services to residents, such as job training, financial counseling, and community events, to help promote self-sufficiency and a sense of community, however, it is a future dream of us as we believe in inspiring people in achieving their highest potential and having safe housing is the first step in this direction.
The first two programs that we are going to work on with our current limited resources an eviction prevention program and a deposit assistant program to help individuals and families that are in need of the transition but fell short of reaching their goal, our grant will hopefully save them from being evicted or will help them find a more suitable place.
Is to help low and moderate-income families and individuals in MI obtain and or maintain safe and suitable housing that can help them achieve their highest potential.
We believe that no one in the richest country in the history of the world should face homelessness or suffer any form of poor housing or unsafe housing situation.
We believe that by mobilizing volunteers and donors coupled with minimizing the cost of operation to essentially zero or near zero can supercharge and automate the process of helping those in dire need to get the help they need in a timely fashion to help them maintain or sustain their desirable housing.
We have noticed over the years that other agencies, and especially government agencies take an unnecessarily long time to provide the fund needed for help resulting in actions being taken by courts or landlords before the fund is received, this subsequently has resulted in an unnecessary pain to tenants and landlords alike.
We believe self-sustainability is a must in an organization like this for this reason substantial efforts were put in place to create an asset-based revenue stream to support the mission of our organization. We believe that such an organization should be able to operate regardless of the number of donations received. The asset chosen is real estate, mostly real estate that is in need of rehab. This is not only creating jobs in our community but also providing housing to some other members of this community and the profit generated will help those in need of assistance.
